Location / Ypres (now Ieper ) is a town in the province of West Flanders . This memorial is situated at the eastern side of the town on the road to Menin and Courtral , and bears the names of the men who were lost with out trace during the defence of the Ypres Salient in the first World War .

Historical Information / Hancourt was captured by the Australian Corps in the middle of September , 1918 The British Cemetery was made by Australian units in September 1918. The original Graves are in rows B,C,& D but it was enlarged after the Armistice by the concentration of the Graves from the Battlefields in the immediate neighbourhood and from Estrees-en Chausee British Cemetery. The new garves were mainly of March and September 1918 . There are now over 100 , 1914 -18 war casualties commemerated in this site . Of these , nerarly one-fifthe are unidentified and special memorials are erected to four men of the 7th Northants , believed to be buried among them . The cemetery covers an area of 586 square meters and is enclosed by a brick wall . Estrees-en Chaussee British Cemetery wasimmediately south of Estrees village . It contained the graves of 26 soldiers from The United Kingdom and two from Australia , who fell in September ,1918
Location / Hancourt is a village in the department of the Somme, 12 Kilometers east of Peronne . From Peronne take the D44 towards St Quentin . Travel approximately 4 kilometers then turn left on to the D149 to Cartigny . Go through the then village of Cartigny towards Hancourt on the D194 . In the centre of Hancourt turn right at the end of the road turn left , the cemetery will be found on the left hand side of the road .

Cemetery /: Adelaide River War Cemetery , Northern Territory, Australia

Location : Adelaide River is a township lying 116 kilometers south of Darwin, on the main north-south road from the capital to the rail head at Alice Springs . The War Cemetery ajoins the cicil cemetery and is situated in savannah country about 1 kilometer from the Stuart Highway, in a short road which runs parallel to ,and 100 meters from, the Adelaid River . With-in the cemetery the graves are set in grassed plots in an area contained by a raised concrete kerb. Within Adelaide River War Cemetery will be found the North Territoy Memorial, wich commemorates members of The Australian Army , The Royal Australian Air Force, the Australian Merchant Navy and the Services Reconnaissance Department who lost their lives in operations in the Timor and Northern Australian regions and in waters adjacent to Australia north of Latitude 20 degrees South, and who have no known grave .

Historical Information /: During the 1939-45 War Adelaide River was the headquarters of a large base, and the War Cemetery was created especially for the burial of servicemen who died in this part of Australia . It was used by Australian General Hospitals # 101, 107, 119, 121, and 129; and after the war the Army Graves Service moved into the graves from isolated sites ; ffrom temporary military burial grounds which were at the time called War Cemeteries, and from various civil cemeteries in the area. These included Bagot Hospital Cemetery; Berriman Hospital and War Cemeteries; Daly Waters Civil Cemetery; Darwin Public Cemetery; Gove War Cemetery; Hughes Cemetery Darwin; Katherine Civil and War Cemeteies; Larrimah War Cemetery; Millingbimbi War Cemetery; Mount Isa Cemetery, Queeensland - just over the border where# 74 camp Hospital was set u; South Goulburn Mission Cemetery and Truscott War Cemetery . Adelaide River was taken over by the Commission in September 1947. There are over 400,1939-45 war casualties commemorated in this cemetery.
