History & Achievements :

Of the fourteen children born to Charles & Aaalice Johnson , Horatio Edward (Ned) Johnson was the Youngest. He grew up on the family farm at Narrowgut . On the 10th of February 1885 he married Sarah Jane Williams of New Camden in the Hunter Valley.

In late 1888 with his wife and 3 sons George , Arthur & Alfred via ship travelled to Ballina N.S.W ,then onto Bangalow via Dray. Three of his brothers were cedar cutters in the area , the most famous being Cudgerjack (John Thomas Johnson)

Horatio Johnson farmed at Possum Creek (Tyagarah) , Byron Bay area & Talofa

Eleven more children were born at their farm "Hillsborough"with the last in 1908 taking the lives of both mother & child, his Wife Sarah Jane, was only 44 years .

Horatio again married Mrs Corbin . She had one son via a previous marriage,Ernest. No more children were born of this marriage . Hillsborough was eventually sold , a property on the Tweed River became home . Later homes were at Coopers Plains & Red Hill (Brisbane) & Eumundi . Horatio passed away on 7-7-1841, aged 80 years
